- Social Announcement Video
THE BRIEF
An eyecatching video to announce my switch to freelance on social media. It had to be a quick project as I was officially on my own so I had to keep it clean and simple.

THE PROCESS -
With a time pressure and a specific focus on motion, I needed to keep the modelling of the project really simple. I decided to play with discs, exploring how I could make them move. At this point I created low res grayscale renders to see what interesting movement and compositions I could come up with.
Next I started to stitch them together to see which compositions and movement worked and which didn't. I was also able to see if the movement flowed and to get a sense of timings. Things always start off too slow!
LOOK + FEEL
The greatest source of material inspiration is usually whatever I can find around me. The plastic of a TV remote, the metal of a frying pan. In this case, it was the bottom of a tub of cream. It's a lovely anisotropic plastic that can catch the light in quite an interesting way.
I wanted the lighting to be bright and appealing while also bringing out the detail of the material.
THE RESULT
Simple but eye catching visuals and my most successful linkedin post to date! A great kickoff for my freelancing career.
